OCR Kart Track Rules
RULES & REGULATIONS
- All persons in the pits must wear an armband on their arm! Failure to do this will be grounds for ejection from the pit area.
- Decisions made by the race director and flagman shall be final.
- Questions should be directed to the OCR official for that area, i.e., lineup questions to the grid officials. Overall, the race director shall have the final decision over any dispute.
- Any kart entry may protest the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place finisher, provider that the protestee does not finish behind the protestor.
- Protest fee is $100, to be paid by the protestor and protestee. The track shall retain $35 of the total paid.
- All protests must be made at the scales prior to the release of the karts from the scale area.
- No push bars or push bumpers allowed outside the front fairing.
- Anyone making threats or using abusive profanity to another may be subjected to DQ, $500 fine, and ejections from the premises, or any combination thereof.
- Anyone initiating a fight will be fined $550 and barred from OCR until such fine is paid, for the 1st offense. 2nd offense results in ejection from the track for the season.
- No one is allowed in the scoring tower once races begin, unless requested by an official.
- Karts spilling excess oil or fuel will be black flagged.
- Anyone dumping oil or fuel in the pits will be fined $200 for the 1st offense and will be ejected for the 2nd offense.
- Karts may be driven in the pits at slow speeds — anyone driving at an excessive speed through the pits may be penalized in the race lineup or DQ’d for the day.
- The flagman will start and restart all races — the leader does not start the race.
- Any kart involved in an accident that brings out a caution or a yellow will start in the rear of the field. Any kart that leaves the racing surface or comes to a stop to avoid an existing accident will not be penalized.A kart thats hits the rear of any kart in a turn and it bring out the yellow that kart will go to the rear also
- Karts will line-up on restarts according to their last completed lap where all karts were scored, with karts involved to the rear of the field. Do not race back to the caution!
- If a caution is thrown after the leader has taken the white flag, the next flag will be the checkered and yellow.
- If an accident occurs after the entire field has taken the white flag, the caution flag will not be thrown and all karts will race to the checkered.
- There will be no passing or getting out of line on starts/restarts until the flagman has thrown the green, except to avoid a stalled kart or an accident. Violators may be moved back one position in the lineup. After 2 unsuccessful attempts to start/restart the race, the race may be started from a dead stop between turns 3 and 4.
- Karts failing to make weight after the heat race will start in the rear of the main race. Failure to make weight after the main race will be DQ’d. Lost weight cannot be replaces before weigh-in.
- All tech inspection will be done by OCR track officials and their decision is final. There is no appeal to any other sanctioning body. The track reserves the right to hold any kart/engine part until Wednesday following the race for purposes of further inspection of legality.
- There shall be no alcoholic beverages and/or any alcohol consumed while in the pits. Violators are subject to ejection from the premises. No driver may compete after consuming alcohol. Violators will be DQ’d and ejected from the pits.
- There will be no refunds given for entry fees or gate passes.
- Tire rules are Maxxis EL on all karts(except kid karts)
- We will follow WKA/INEX rules, unless otherwise noted.
- Mufflers are mandatory.
- Cannot run a carb adapter without an air filter.
- Ages for classes determined by WKA/INEX rules.
- Drivers may run driver fairings. Jr. 1 and Jr. 2 drivers may only run with clear driver fairings.
- OCR season points are based on all OCR point events, with one (1) drop allowed. A DQ does not count as a drop. Driver must run at least 5 point events to be eligible for OCR season point awards. (a two track series driver must 8 races to be eligible)
- ALL TECH AND RACE DECISIONS WILL BE MADE FINAL BY OCR OFFICIALS
